There is currently a need for one (1) part-time, extra-hire (15.0 – 22.50 hours/week) Deputy County Clerk I for the next six to nine months. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
This position requires work to be performed during public counter hours which are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Clerk will typically work two to three days per week, with the flexibility to be available more or less, and upon short notice, depending on the volume of work and staffing levels.
The Deputy County Clerk I is a member of a team responsible for providing customer service at the department’s public counters. The Clerk is required to understand, explain and process official documents with a high degree of accuracy and reliability. Clerks are responsible for: responding to public inquiries in person and by email and phone; explaining policies and procedures related to the Clerk’s Office; performing tasks such as reviewing legal documents for completeness of information and conformance with legal requirements; and performing civil marriage ceremonies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge and skills within the class specification. Typically, equivalent to two years of full-time responsible clerical and/or administrative experience which includes considerable public contact.
