The State of California has opening for the position Food Service Position. This position is located in the city of Albany. This is a 12 month limited term position that may be extended and/or become permanent pending budget approval.
The Orientation Center for the Blind (OCB) program is a 24 hour, 7 days a week residential facility providing independent living skills and pre-vocational training services to adults who are blind/visually impaired.
Under general supervision of the Supervising Cook I, and under the lead direction of the Cook Specialist I or II, the Food Services Technician I will perform general cooking support duties in OCB’s cafeteria facility, providing a professional, helpful and friendly service standard and manner during service of meals to OCB students, staff and visitors, and during events and other necessary functions. As assigned, assist with the preparation and serving of foods and beverages; clean and maintain food service equipment, utensils, and work areas; and work with OCB student helpers as part of their internship program by instructing, leading, or supervising students; and performing other related work as needed.
Experience: Six months of experience in an institution, hotel, or restaurant, either serving, cleaning food service areas, or assisting with the preparation and service of foods and beverages.
