Building Permit Specialist for the City of Berkeley


The City of Berkeley is currently accepting applications for Permit Specialist.  This position is located in the Permit Service Center Division of the Planning Department reporting to the Permit Center Coordinator.

The Permit Specialist works initially under close supervision and with time is expected to become increasingly knowledgeable and proficient in the assignment.  Within established guidelines and procedures, daily activities involve building permit application intake and processing, building plan review for accuracy and completeness, routine building code explanation, and routine complaint resolution.
