Victim Witness Advocate for the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office

The San Francisco District Attorney’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Victim Witness Advocate.

The Victim/Witness investigator I (8129) position, will provide direct services to victims of crime, establish and maintain working relationships with other criminal justice agencies and support the vision and mission of the Victim Services Division.Examples of duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides victim advocacy and support service for victims of crime
  • Assists victims of crime with their participation in the criminal justice system; including case status updates, court support, and other related activities
  • Offer information and make appropriate, need-based referrals to and from hospitals, clinics, mental health providers, social services, emergency resources and community based organizations
  • Assist criminal justice personnel in fulfilling their duties to victims of crime through advocacy, case consultations and training
  • Work with Assistant District Attorney’s, Investigators, and Police Inspectors in case development consultations and training
  • Provide educational presentations to community, public, and neighborhood groups for the purpose of education, developing collaborations building inter-community relationships and advocating for the prevention and treatment of criminal acts
  • Responsible for data collection (including monthly service reports), case management, and manual and computerized file maintenance
  • Other duties as required by management to guarantee the successful operation of the Division
