First Pointe Management Group  is currently hiring a full time Groundskeeper for a 224 unit apartment community in Petaluma, Ca.

Schedule is full time 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Position Overview:
The groundskeeper position is responsible for the care, upkeep and maintenance of all outdoor and common areas, including: landscaped areas, pathways, pool and laundry rooms, and courtyard. Must have experience in: grounds keeping, gardening, general maintenance aptitude, good communication skills, and a sense of customer service.


-Daily cleaning of property and upkeep of all common areas.                                  -Remove trash/litter, sweep pathways and sidewalks
-Basic gardening/weeding.
-Minor painting projects as needed around property.

-High school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
-1 year of previous experience working as a Groundskeeper/Janitorial work.
-Ability to communicate to patrons and to staff.
-Ability to work independently.

The Apprentice Gardener is a trainee classification which performs routine and basic duties to assist Gardeners in the care of athletic fields, squares, parks, playgrounds, stadiums, thoroughfares, medians and/or other landscaped areas. Under direct supervision, learns to perform care and maintenance of a variety of plants and landscaped areas, including planting, pruning and pest control; removes debris and litter; operates hand or power lawn mower; performs routine maintenance of tools and equipment; and performs related duties as required. Assigned duties increase in scope and difficulty as the Apprentice Gardener demonstrates skills in performing diverse duties that are learned through an on-the-job training rotation. Work is performed under direct supervision and is evaluated on the basis of progress in a structured work experience training program.

The Community Recycling Crew (CRC) Assistant Crew Supervisor is responsible for completing all daily tasks associated with recycle collections and education. Duties include driving set routes, collecting recycling at events, and supervising outreach and education crews throughout the North Bay. Assistant Crew Supervisors supervise corpsmembers when on route; collect and sort recycled materials; clean, build, and repair bins; inspect recycling sites, vehicles and other equipment; collect route and recycle bin information; and report route problems to the CRC Supervisor. The CRC Assistant Crew Supervisors help develop corpsmembers to ensure they exhibit professional behavior and conduct safe work practices, documenting and reporting behavior issues to the CRC Supervisor.

Under supervision of an Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent, the Lead Custodian is responsible for overseeing all assignments and appointed staff duties, while providing high quality and efficient custodial cleaning standards to all assigned buildings.

Required Qualifications

• Two years in a custodial cleaning operations, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Knowledge and ability to apply appropriate cleaning methods, including specialized procedures and techniques for laboratory and medical spaces
• Knowledge of applicable security regulations and the ability to follow established security protocols
• Ability to use powered and manual floor-cleaning and polishing equipment; ability to use dollies, hoists, and other moving aids
