Marin County Parks Seasonal Assistant – Visitor Study

Marin County Parks  will be hiring up to four seasonal positions to join an existing team charged with implementing a second phase of a park and open space visitor study, assisting with other department research projects, and fulfilling other duties as assigned.

1) Staff will be primarily responsible for counting and interviewing visitors at 17 park and open space locations. This position requires strong communication skills, familiarity with tablet computers and data entry, and a willingness to work alone, in addition to the requirements below.

2) Staff will assist open space rangers and resources staff with the maintenance of research cameras and review of data. This work requires sitting in a computer lab for several hours at a time, hiking, and some physical labor, in addition to the requirements below.

3) Staff may assist the department with other tasks from time to time, including: community outreach and engagement (including Roving Ranger support, attending community events, and tabling), participation in community programming, working with volunteers, writing summary reports, maintaining tools and equipment, general park and trail maintenance, and other tasks as needed.

This position requires strong interpersonal communications skills. All seasonal assistants must be able to drive to remote locations, lift 30-40 pounds of equipment, work alone, and engage visitors and assist them with completing surveys on tablet computers. Work may occur during adverse weather conditions. Seasonal assistants may also be required to hike and work in difficult conditions on rugged terrain. Community Recycling Crew Assistant Supervisor for Conservation Corps North Bay

Conservation Corps North Bay operates an extensive recycling collection program that is vital to agencies that manage Marin and Sonoma county parks, businesses and schools. Over 300,000 pounds of beverage containers and paper is collected each year from over 844 collection points around the North Bay. CCNB’s corpsmembers also conduct outreach and education to thousands of students, businesses, and community volunteers about recycling and environmental stewardship.

The Community Recycling Crew (CRC) Assistant Crew Supervisor is responsible for completing all daily tasks associated with recycle collections and education.  Duties include driving set routes, collecting recycling at events, and supervising outreach and education crews throughout the North Bay. Camp and Youth Office Coordinator at Marin JCC

The Camp & Youth Office Coordinator is a full-time (40 hours/week) position. This position is responsible for supporting all programs within the Camp and Youth Department, including: program registrations, billing, coordinating buses and reservations, large-scale supply ordering, and other administrative tasks as needed. This role requires a cheerful demeanor, strong organizational skills and the ability to work within a high traffic, fast-paced, open office environment. The Camp & Youth Office Coordinator reports to the Camp & Youth Director.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates Camp and After School registration including customer service, data entry, recording financial transactions, maintaining accurate registration records and reporting.
  • Gather, organize and maintain participant digital and/or paper files in accordance with our licensing and accreditation.
  • Regular, bulk supply ordering, tracking and inventory
  • Coordinate and track transportation reservations and routes for all programs
  • Schedule and manage all field trips and other program reservations with outside vendors
  • Create and run reports on in house data base systems regularly
  • Collect and prepare staff hiring paperwork for payroll department.
  • Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and monthly credit card reconciliation
  • Maintain a positive, customer service attitude and demeanor in all interactions with campers, families, and program visitors.
