San Francisco ACE Program – Access to City Employment
The City and County of San Francisco has committed to increasing of employment of qualified applicants with disabilities.
All applicants are able to apply through the competitive civil service merit process, which consists of successfully passing of an examination and placement on an eligible list.
The Access to City Employment (ACE) Program is a program that supports applicants with disabilities throughout the hiring process. Applicants can enter the city workforce without going through the competitive civil service merit process.
Applicants hired through this program are designated permanent status upon three successful evaluations within a one-year period.
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in the job description for the position they are applying. Applicants must also hold a certificate of disability issued the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) or Veteran’s Administration.
State of California jobs – priority hiring for individuals with disabilities
LEAP is an alternate selection process designed to facilitate hiring of people with disabilities to selected jobs with the State of California
Federal jobs – priority hiring for individuals with disabilities
